Black Mountain is part of School District 23 which includes 16 Elementary Schools, 8 Middle Schools, and 5 Secondary Schools. Black Mountain Elementary, Belgo Elementary (French Immersion), Rutland Middle, and Rutland Senior schools are all within the neighbourhood itself.


A large part of the appeal of Black Mountain comes from it’s rural atmosphere, perfect for outdoor enthusiasts. Black Mountain has 25 acres of protected trails and greenspace to enjoy, along with some world class-golf, easy access to Big White Ski Resort, Kelowna Nordic Ski and Snowshoe, and many well equipped community parks and greenspaces.
